First Sesame Street App Debuts for iPhone and iPod touch

The producers behind Sesame Street, Sesame Workshop, and IDEO, an award-winning design and innovation consultancy have announced the availability of the Grover’s Number Special App, making this is the first official Sesame Street app for the iPhone and iPod touch.

The Grover’s Number Special App is available for $2.99 from the App Store on iPhone and iPod touch or at www.itunes.com/appstore/

To celebrate Sesame Street’s 40th anniversary, iTunes will launch, for the first time, select episodes from Sesame Street’s current season.  The Season 40 episodes will include celebrity guests Cameron Diaz, Jimmy Fallon, Ricky Gervais, Maggie Gyllenhall, and many more.

“As Sesame Street marks this milestone year, we continue to innovate through the latest media platforms and offer our fans the best of Sesame Street whenever and wherever they are,” said Jeffrey Fleishman, Assistant Vice President for Media Distribution Business Development, Sesame Workshop.

With acclaimed shows that help bridge the literacy gap including The Electric Company and Pinky Dinky Doo, Sesame Workshop creator of Sesame Street, is the nonprofit educational organization that changed children’s television programming and which is seen in over 140 countries.

Sesame Workshop produces content for multiple media platforms on a wide range of issues including literacy, health and military deployment. These programs meet certain needs that help young children and families develop critical skills, learn healthy habits and build emotional strength to prepare them for lifelong learning.
